Leanna Jean Drumheller

Leanna Jean (Markle) Drumheller, 82, of Berwick, passed away Tuesday, April 9, 2024 with her family at her side.  Born in Berwick on June 1, 1941, she was a daughter to the late Howard B. and Helen L. (Masker) Markle.

Leanna was a graduate of Berwick High School, Class of 1959.  On December 17, 1960, she wed Franklin H. Drumheller, with whom she would raise her family and share 52 years of marriage.  She was employed by Consolidated Cigar Corp and had been a housecleaner for nearly 30 years.  Leanna was an avid reader and enjoyed shopping.  Her favorite times were those spent with her beloved family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Surviving Leanna are her children:  Lorie Torsella and husband, Brian, of Berwick, Kevin Drumheller and wife, Sallie, of Berwick, Kent Drumheller and wife, Lucinda, of Benton, Brian Drumheller and wife, Amy, of Berwick, and Lynne Talanca and husband, Pete, of Berwick; her niece that she had raised, Holly Markle; 16 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, with two more on the way; siblings:  Kathleen Church and husband, Thomas, of Mifflinville, and Charles “Sonny” Markle and his companion, Priscilla; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Leanna was preceded in death by her husband, Franklin H. Drumheller, who passed away November 21, 2013.  She was also preceded in death by a niece that she had raised, Brittany Wildoner, and siblings:  Howard Markle, Richard Markle, Vivian Vandermark, and Patricia Johns.

Leanna’s Funeral Service will be 12 Noon Saturday, April 13, 2024 at the Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc., 119-121 E. Third Street, Berwick.  Pastor Bob Hess of LCBC Church Columbia Montour Campus will officiate.  Her viewing will be from 11 AM until the time of the funeral at 12 Noon.  Her interment at Pine Grove Cemetery Annex, Walnut Street, is private.  The Kelchner, McMichael & Readler Funeral Home, Inc. is honored to serve the Drumheller family.  Online messages of comfort and support may be left at www.kelchnerfuneralhome.com.
